Solar, explained bypeople not closing you.

Everything here is written to be useful whether or not you ever buy from us. If a page reads like a sales pitch dressed as advice, tell us and we will rewrite it.

Start here

Own vs. lease vs. PPA: the honest 25-year math.

The single most consequential decision in a solar purchase, laid out side by side with the numbers that leasing companies would rather you did not add up.

Tools and guides

Work it out yourselfbefore you talk to anyone.

None of these ask for your phone number to show you a number. Two of them are interactive, and all of them use the same pricing model our proposals do.

Consumer protection

Don't sign anythinguntil you know these six things.

Ask every company you talk to, including us. A good one will answer all six without getting defensive, and will put the answers in writing.

Is the system actually large enough?

Undersizing is the most common complaint we hear about other companies' work, and it almost always traces back to a quote built off one month's bill instead of twelve.

Will it still cover you in five years?

An EV, a pool, a heat pump or an addition changes the answer completely. Sizing for today's usage is how people end up buying a second system.

Is a battery required for this to work?

Under current rate plans, exported power is worth a fraction of what you buy back after sunset. If nobody mentions storage, ask why not.

Will it perform the way they said it would?

Get the production estimate in writing, and ask what happens if the system does not hit it. The answer separates contractors from salespeople.

Are you overpaying?

Compare price per watt on identical equipment, and be suspicious of any discount that only exists if you sign tonight.

Would a lease or PPA cost you far more?

Usually tens of thousands more across 25 years, and you own nothing at the end. Nearly every solar horror story starts with one.

We answer all six, in writing, before you decide.

If the honest answer to any of them is that solar is not right for you yet, that is what we will tell you. We would rather lose the sale than sell you the wrong system.
