Most of the work we do comes from somebody telling a neighbour — and from customers whose original installer disappeared and needed someone to pick the system up.
Asked all the time.
We put our customers on annual billing, so credits you build in summer carry forward against winter. Most months you then pay very little — often just the fixed charges — and the energy side of your account settles up once a year at true-up. A well-sized system can finish that year at zero energy charges, or with surplus credit paid out at the net surplus rate. Two things never go away: the fixed monthly service charge, and the per-kilowatt-hour non-bypassable charges on power you import. Credits cannot be applied to either, which is why we will not promise you a zero bill. The number that matters is lifetime anyway. Ask what you will pay your utility over the next 25 years; for most California homeowners it runs well into six figures, and you never get it back.
Own it — and we mean own it. What we don't sell is the escalating lease or the 25-year PPA, where you get a second bill that climbs every year, a contract attached to your house, and nothing you own at the end. Nearly every solar horror story we hear starts with one of those, or with an installer who vanished. Our own prepaid PPA is the opposite: one payment up front, no monthly payment, no escalator, a 25% discount off the price on day one, and the system transferred into your name at year six. And because it is already paid for, there is no payment stream for a buyer to assume if you sell before then. If financing is the hurdle, $0-down ownership options exist. And we'll tell you straight if solar isn't right for you yet.
