Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
•Must have 2 years’ experience on roof and understand how to survey, layout and install PV solar modules to maximize best roof spaces.
•Must be able to lead and complete jobs on time.
•Must be well organized.
- NABCEP certification preferred, but not required.
- Willing to work in extreme environments (hot sun, high places/roofs, and crawl spaces).
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to complete a MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check; (example no DUI’s in last 5 years).
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must deliver a high level of customer service.
• All candidates must submit and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Expected but not limited to the following Job Tasks:
•Check electrical installation for proper wiring, polarity, grounding, or integrity of terminations.
•Determine appropriate sizes, ratings, and locations for all system over current devices, disconnect devices, grounding equipment, and surge suppression equipment.
•Identify methods for laying out, orienting, and mounting modules or arrays to ensure efficient installation, electrical configuration, or system maintenance.
•Install module array interconnect wiring, implementing measures to disable arrays during installation.
•Install required labels on solar system components and hardware.
•Measure and analyze system performance and operating parameters to assess operating condition of systems or equipment.
•Program, adjust, or configure inverters and controls for desired set points and operating modes.
•Select mechanical designs, installation equipment, or installation plans that conform to environmental, architectural, structural, site, and code requirements.
•Test operating voltages to ensure operation within acceptable limits for power conditioning equipment, such as inverters and controllers.
•Visually inspect and test photovoltaic (PV) modules or systems before leaving a job.
•Monitoring installation and testing prior to leaving jobs
Requirements:
- Knowledge of general construction, electrical, and roofing practices
- Ability to connect wires to circuit breaker or other components
- Proficient in running conduit ( 3/4″ and 1″ EMT) and wiring practices
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments
•Customer-service skills. Residential panel installers must work in customers’ homes. As a result, workers must maintain professionalism and perform the work in a timely manner.
•Detail oriented. PV installers must carefully follow instructions during installation. If they fail to do so, the system may not work properly.
•Mechanical skills. PV installers work with complex electrical and mechanical equipment. They must be able to build support structures that hold PV panels in place, and properly connect the panels to the electrical system.
•Have your own harness preferred but not required

•Driving. Must have a good DMV driving record to be added to company vehicle insurance policy
•Physical stamina. PV installers are often on their feet carrying panels and other heavy equipment. When installing rooftop panels, workers may need to climb ladders many times during the course of the day.
•Physical strength. PV installers must often lift heavy equipment, parts, and tools. Workers should be strong enough to lift panels that weigh up to 60 pounds.
•Responsible. All crew members are responsible for being on time to jobs, accurate and on time clock in and clock out of time on GPS accessible phone app timecards daily. All crew members are responsible to pick up trash (their own personal and job related), keep trucks clean, stocked and maintained. No smoking or cursing on job site is permitted.
